Use this playbook to pack a submitted request, confirm the physical handoff, and keep custody attached to the trip.
Before you start
- Act as
- An Operations or Inventory user allowed to check out gear
- Trip
- A CIS with a submitted daily client gear request
- Starting state
- The request is visible in the gear queue and has not been checked out
- Physical reality
- The available requested items can be packed and handed to the trip's guide
Run the scenario
- 1InventoryTrailhead · Guides · Gear
Open the request for the selected lodge and compare its items with physical stock.
Expected evidence
The request identifies the trip, guide, items, and quantities that need packing.
- 2InventoryLodge · Physical packing area
Pack the available items using the visible request as the checklist.
Expected evidence
The physical package matches the requested items that will leave the lodge.
- 3OperationsTrailhead · Guides · Gear
After the physical handoff, check out the request for the trip.
Expected evidence
The request changes to Checked out and remains visibly tied to its trip and guide.
- 4GuideTrailhead Mobile · CIS detail
Open the trip gear summary after checkout.
Expected evidence
The checked-out items and quantities are visible as gear expected back after the trip.
Scenario completed
The physical gear is checked out to the CIS or trip and visible to the guide.

If it does not match
- If the request is missing from the queue, confirm that the guide submitted it for the same lodge and trip.
- If the physical package cannot match the request, do not check it out; resolve availability with operations before the handoff.
- If mobile still shows Requested, confirm that checkout completed after the physical handoff and refresh the CIS detail.
