The situation

A person profile is ready and the person now needs Trailhead mobile access. The invitation must connect their sign-in to the profile operations already trusts.

What starts it

Operations sends an invitation from the person's guide detail.

How it unfolds

OperationsGuideSystem
  1. 1

Operations confirms that the person profile has a usable email.

    Operations

The invitation will belong to this existing person profile.

  2. 2

    Operations sends the Trailhead invitation.

    Operations

Trailhead creates access that is time-bound and single-use.

  3. 3

The guide opens the invitation and signs in with the invited identity.

    Guide

An expired or consumed invitation cannot be reused.

  4. 4

Trailhead links the signed-in user to the existing person profile.

    System

This is the key moment: access joins the trusted identity without creating a duplicate guide.

Who's involved

Operations

Checks the profile email and sends access to the intended person.

Guide

Accepts the invitation and signs in with the invited identity.

System

Creates a time-bound invitation and links sign-in to the existing record.

What each person sees

Operations

Invitation state on the existing guide detail.

Why: Know whether access has been sent and accepted.

Guide

A Trailhead invitation followed by the mobile sign-in experience.

Why: Enter Trailhead as the person already recorded by operations.

The rule to remember

An invitation grants access to an existing person profile; it must never create a duplicate guide.
